The Columbia Stem Cell Initiative is seeking a highly motivated candidate for the position of Postdoctoral Research Scientist in its Stem Cell Core Facility. The candidate will be involved in gene editing using the CRISPR-Cas9 technology and will pioneer development of new reporter systems and isogenic lines. The candidate will also be involved in culturing genetically engineered human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), and may work in differentiating said lines into neuronal subtypes. Postdoctoral scholars play a key role in shaping, conducting, and presenting research, supervised by the program's faculty members. The Postdoctoral Research Scholar will work closely with other team members in the lab and must therefore possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. This work requires a detail-oriented, highly organized candidate who is able to multi-task, take initiative, work independently, and see projects through to completion.
